The head of the republic noted the significant amount of work done to ensure security. Thus, the crime rate has gone down significantly, governance in the republic has been restored and an atmosphere of zero-tolerance of extremism is being created, along with the rotation of administrative personnel in Daghestan’s regions and cities.
Mr Abdulatipov said the republic’s industrial production index and agricultural growth rate place it among the top ten regions of Russia.
The Head of Daghestan made a request to speed up the adoption of the region’s development programme that has been drafted and approved, and is now with the Russian Federation Government.
Mr Abdulatipov also spoke of preparations to mark the 2000th anniversary of the founding of the city of Derbent and invited Vladimir Putin to attend the festivities that are to take place in September.
