The measures the region is taking to stimulate housing construction and develop industry, especially in such sectors as engine building and processing of oil products, were the subject of particular attention.
Mr Basargin said that production increased by around five percent last year. The region is focusing on three main economic sectors – the processing industry, construction, and agriculture.
Production of transmission components for helicopters, new engines for aircraft, and powerful turbine generators needed for Crimea’s energy sector were among the subjects discussed. Mr Basargin also spoke about the launch in September of Russia’s first production facility for deep refining – 98 percent – of oil residue, which will make it possible to produce an additional 1 million tonnes of Euro-5 diesel fuel each year.
