The message reads, in part:
“Today, Russia marks Tiger Day. This good holiday invented by enthusiastic environmentalists from the Amur tiger’s homeland – Primorye – has united all the people who feel personal responsibility to preserve and increase Russia’s rich natural legacy. Those who clearly understand that human impact on the environment should be careful and reasonable.
It is important that the number of environmental projects in our country grows every year, constantly expanding the pool of its participants. More and more territories get the status of “specially protected natural areas”, allowing their forests, rivers, and rare species, including the Amur tiger, of course, to recover.
A lot here is being done by volunteers, local historians, and specialists. And today I want to specially thank them for what they do, for their honest attitude towards nature and therefore – to their country, to Russia, to our Motherland.”
