The message reads, in part:
“The emergence of Russia’s nuclear sector, which marks its 70th anniversary this year, played a big part in the national economy’s effective development and in shaping our country’s post-war history. The nuclear sector gave us strategic nuclear parity and ensured our country’s defence, established our nuclear energy industry, opened up unique opportunities for developing the Arctic region, and gave a big boost to fundamental and applied science.
It is important to see that the people working in the sector today preserve their predecessors’ intellectual, technological and scientific heritage, and enrich it with their own creative potential, taking part in resolving national tasks in all different areas. Today, you need to continue developing fundamental research, make nuclear facilities safer and more reliable, take active part in space programmes and promising international projects, and strengthen Russia’s position on world markets and in global competition.”
