President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev: Colleagues, friends,
Today, I am presenting state awards to the best specialists at the Mongolrostsvetmet industrial complex. These awards represent the state’s high assessment of your personal success and your work in developing a joint company. Your combine has become a successful, well-developing, and effective company, thanks in large part to the professions you represent and your hard work – the work of executives, engineers, and workers. Today, you are contributing a significant share of Mongolia’s gross domestic product, along with two other very large Russian-Mongolian businesses. This is a very good indicator of joint work.
Even in today’s complicated conditions, it is important to look for new areas where we can build our relations to foster new joint projects. As far as I understand, today, Mongolrostsvetmet is not just a modern industrial complex; rather, it is its own kind of oasis within the Gobi desert, with a residential compound, a school, and a clinic. The company’s great potential and its opportunities for expanding exports are important factors for staying competitive on the international markets in Russia and Mongolia.
Although this is a fairly hard time due to the crisis and the financial difficulties that exist today, we are nevertheless interested in expanding exports and implementing new leading technologies and innovative approaches. I hope that you will be able to continue working on this in the future.
With us today is a new shareholder – the Rostekhnologii state corporation which, I hope, will also prepare some suggestions regarding investments. They will make the company’s work more stable and create additional opportunities for fulfilling your personal plans and resolving the personal challenges that stand before each of you, your families, and your loved ones.
Colleagues, friends, the work of the industrial complex really is an example of very effective cooperation. And this partnership not only brings good economic results, but also serves as a very important factor that brings our nations closer, helping resolve a variety of challenges – not only economic ones, but regional and political ones as well, because as you know, policies always have a strong basis in the economy.
We are determined to continue developing friendly relations with our Mongolian friends. Today, I had successful talks with the President and the Government. I met with the Khural, the nation’s parliament, and overall, today serves as another indicator that the ties historically binding our two nations have not faded, disappeared, or corroded; instead, they truly are an important factor to life in our countries.
I would like to sincerely congratulate you on receiving these state awards and to wish success to you, your loved ones, and your families.
