The message of greetings reads, in part:
“Throughout the years of its existence, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has gained a reputation as the leading international organization in its field. The constructive cooperation of its member countries is second only to the resolution of a most important task – maintaining balance between the development of the ‘peaceful atom’ and strengthening the nuclear non-proliferation regime.
This country was among the founders of the IAEA and made a tangible intellectual and technical contribution to its development. Today, Russia continues to occupy a leading position in nuclear power engineering and has amassed successful experience in building nuclear power stations in various parts of the world. Indicatively, Russia continues to develop its nuclear power industry and cooperation with its partners in strict conformity with the IAEA standards and guidelines.
We are firmly committed to the provisions of the IAEA charter and call on all countries to consistently observe the spirit and letter of the charter. We intend to continue to comprehensively support the agency, including its efforts to respond to the new challenges and tasks facing the world community.”
