The message reads, in part:
”Your creative project seeks to preserve the legendary artistic traditions for which Russian theatrical art is rightfully celebrated. It introduces professionals and audiences to the outstanding premieres of the season and the best work by directors and actors. Of course, it is important to note the significant contribution made by the Golden Mask to support theatres representing a variety of cities and regions and to consolidate the common cultural space of our country.
I am positive that this ceremony will be held in an atmosphere of kindness and creativity, and provide an excellent opportunity for its participants to discuss current problems, share experience, and celebrate the latest achievements of their colleagues.“
The Golden Mask Award was established by the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation in 1993 and is presented in all genres of theatrical art, including drama, opera, ballet, modern dance, operetta, musical, and puppet theatre.
The Golden Mask Russian Theatre Festival features the most significant theatre shows from Russian cities in Moscow every spring.
