The Agreement on Foundations for Relations between the Russian Federation and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana was signed in Moscow on June 15, 2016.
Under the Agreement, the two countries will cooperate within the UN and regional and international organisations and forums to facilitate international peace, stability and security and guarantee the foundation for their peoples’ social and economic development and prosperity.
Under the Agreement, the two countries will develop mutually advantageous cooperation in trade, the economy, social, cultural and education sectors, sports, healthcare, disaster prevention and relief, and combating trans-national organised crime.
The Agreement also states that the two countries will work together to fight international terrorism in accordance with bilateral and multilateral international agreements to which both countries are party.
