The message reads, in part:
”Preserving the unity of our multi-ethnic nation and improving the intercultural and interfaith dialogue is a priority for the government. It is essential that this serious and much needed effort should rely on the considerable potential of public and religious bodies, researchers and experts.
In this respect, I would like to stress the multifaceted work carried out by the Russian Peoples’ Assembly, which has over the years implemented a number of varying and substantial projects, and held large-scale youth forums, congresses of Russian peoples and professional competitions for leaders of non-profit organisations from all over the country. A federal network of methodological resource centres established by the Assembly to assist ethnic and interethnic public associations, as well as regional and municipal authorities, is developing successfully.
This much needed and truly selfless work deserves the deepest recognition.“
The congress is taking place in Moscow on May 27–29.
