The Federal Law sets out the basic foundations and principles for ensuring security of Russia’s critical information infrastructure, including the foundations for the functioning of the state system for detecting, preventing and liquidating the consequences of cyberattacks against Russian Federation information resources. This is a unified system, distributed across the country and endowed with the capability and resources needed to detect, prevent and liquidate the consequences of cyberattacks and respond to cyber incidents.
The Federal Law sets out the mechanism for preventing cyber incidents at important components of critical information infrastructure, which will considerably reduce the negative impact for the country in the event of cyberattacks against Russia.
The Federal Law defines the powers of state bodies for ensuring the security of critical information infrastructure and the rights and obligations of the various actors in this area.
