Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants and guests of the Russian Energy Week (REW) Energy Efficiency and Energy Development International Forum.
The message reads, in part:
“Representatives of government bodies, major energy companies, businesses and the expert community from Russia and abroad will gather to discuss the main trends in the world energy development. In the course of an intensive programme, they are to conduct a thorough and in-depth analysis of the current state of the global energy market and propose efficient solutions to topical problems.
Sustainable growth of the global economy is closely linked to energy security. As one of the guarantors of energy security in the entire Eurasia, Russia plays a special role in this issue. The forum’s participants and guests will have an opportunity to learn about the Russian fuel and energy industry’s prospects and ongoing strategic projects. They will plan areas of cooperation, including in the energy-saving sector and implementation of the latest technology that meets the highest environmental standards.
I expect that the informative dialogue of the Russian Energy Week participants will contribute to the development of a common approach to forming the international energy agenda and the launch of new mutually beneficial initiatives.”
The First Russian Energy Week (REW) is taking place on October 3–7 in Moscow and St Petersburg. The forum has brought together more than 20 energy ministers. The official programme includes around 50 business events.
