The Federal Law imposes additional responsibilities on communications service providers.
The Federal Law states that mobile telephone service providers that offer short text messaging services must transfer the sender’s number unchanged. The same will be required of the mobile operator from whose network a telephone call is made, the mobile operator involved in establishing the connection and the mobile operator in whose data transfer network a connection is established for the purpose of voice communication.
The Federal Law stipulates that, in order to prevent crimes involving mobile networks and communications, upon the request of an investigative authority, or upon an order from a federal executive body that oversees communications, information technology and telecommunications, a communications service provider must stop providing its services if it is not confirmed within 15 days that the personal data of the number’s actual user matches the data specified in the number’s service agreement.
