The event was hosted by the regional branch of Delovaya Rossiya business association, the Government of the Republic of Crimea, the Foundation of the Yalta International Economic Forum and Crimea Congress Foundation. Presidential Adviser German Klimenko took part in the discussion.
In his remarks, the Presidential Adviser said that “Crimea is well positioned to develop IT and crypto clusters.” According to Mr Klimenko, developing new production facilities calls for capital investment and requires time, while any move in the IT sector can instantly frame the region’s image and reputation. “Just moving Yandex, a single company, to Crimea would increase the peninsula’s budget manifold,” Mr Klimenko pointed. The Presidential Adviser went on to suggest selecting specific areas in Crimea for crowdinvesting.
It was also noted that the agenda of the upcoming Yalta International Economic Forum on April 19–21, 2018 in Crimea will focus on the digital economy, high technology, artificial intelligence and robotics, and feature international experts and representatives of major companies.
