The president will visit Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University and will address participants in a plenary meeting of the 11th Congress of the Russian Rectors Union, due to involve over 600 rectors from Russian and foreign universities.
Congress delegates are to discuss the development of a common educational infrastructure, efforts to chart a national science and technological development strategy, cooperation between universities, schools and society, as well as international aspects of Russian universities’ activities.
On April 27, the Day of Russian Parliamentarianism, Vladimir Putin will meet with members of the Federal Assembly’s Council of Legislators at Tavrichesky Palace.
Meeting participants, including Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko and State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin who co-chair the Council of Legislators, will focus on measures to implement the President’s March 1, 2018 Address to the Federal Assembly by legislatures, as well as on legislative support for monitoring the quality of medical treatment and the development of the digital economy in the Russian regions.
Vladimir Putin will later chair a meeting of the Russian Geographical Society’s Board of Trustees at the Society’s headquarters. Those at the meeting will sum up the organisation’s 2017 performance and will present the best projects of 2018. The Society’s honorary certificates and medals will be awarded during the event.
