The President attended a gala-concert, which showcased international ballet stars, whose performances included pieces from the ballets Le Corsaire, Giselle, Swan Lake and Don Quijote. Following the concert, Vladimir Putin had a brief conversation with the artists.
On August 10, a music program awaits viewers that will include Henry Purcell’s opera Dido and Aeneas staged by the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre. On August 11, both Russian and foreign singers will perform the best European and Russian 18th-19th century opera arias. On August 12, the festival’s last day, the program will feature a performance of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin by Novaya Opera artists.
Later, the President and Metropolitan Tikhon visited the Saint Vladimir Cathedral, where restoration work is in progress.
