As has been customary, the forum will again provide Russian and foreign partners with the opportunity to discuss new areas of the Far East’s development and the expansion of economic links in the Asia-Pacific region. This year's main guests include Chinese President Xi Jinping, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Mongolian President Khaltmaagiin Battulga, and Prime Minister of South Korea Lee Nak-yeon.

On September 10, the President of Russia will get acquainted with a project to build a museum complex, theater and educational complex in Vladivostok and will chair a State Council Presidium meeting on measures to implement the strategic tasks set in the President’s Executive Order of May 7, 2018, as part of the Government’s priority to develop the Far East socially and economically.
On the same day, Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Shinzo Abe, when they will exchange opinions on current issues on the bilateral and regional agendas. Russian President and Japanese Prime Minister will visit a Mazda Sollers engine plant in Vladivostok.
Later, the President will examine an exhibit dedicated to the territories slated for priority development, and will hold a video conference to launch a number of local enterprises.
On September 11, the President will visit the Zvezda shipyard and get familiarised with its current and future projects.
Then Vladimir Putin will meet at the Forum's venue with members of foreign business communities taking part in the forum. They will discuss pressing issues of entrepreneurship in the region and promising branches and spheres of business operations that involve foreign capital in the Russian Far East, and measures to provide state assistance to new projects.
On the same day, Russia-China talks will take place, during which Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will discuss the state of and prospects for bilateral cooperation in politics, trade, the economy, culture and the humanitarian sphere, as well as key international issues. The heads of state will also meet with participants in the roundtable discussion for heads of Russian and Chinese regions, and will attend the Forum's traditional exhibition Far East Street.
On September 12, the Russian President will meet with Khaltmaagiin Battulga and Lee Nak-yeon.
Then, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Shinzo Abe, Khaltmaagiin Battulga, and Lee Nak-yeon will take part in the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum.
Following the session, the leaders will take part in the awards ceremony for the winners of the 2018 Far East Tall Ships Regatta.
Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will visit the National Children's Centre Ocean.
At the conclusion of the day's programme, the Russian, Japanese and Mongolian leaders will attend the traditional Kano Jigoro International U21 Judo Tournament.
