Primorye Territory Governor Oleg Kozhemyako chaired a meeting of the Working Group tasked with preparing a joint meeting of the Presidential Council for the Promotion of Physical Culture and Sport and the Presidium of the State Council on the Role of the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation and Municipalities in Promoting Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism.
Some of the more important issues under discussion were improving legal regulations in the area of physical culture, sport and competitive activities, promoting public sports, creating conditions for attracting skilled personnel to various locations, and developing the material and technical infrastructure.
Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Zarina Doguzova reported to the Working Group on the results of an analytical survey that focused on the development of tourism in Russian Federation regions. The survey helped to identify the key problems hampering the tourism industry development. The solutions will promote an increase in both domestic and incoming tourist volumes many times over.
The participants in the meeting outlined focus areas for further work, including efforts to improve legal regulations, surveillance activities, transport accessibility, and infrastructure; develop small and medium-sized businesses in the area of tourism; promote investment; devise measures to support the tourism industry; promote digital technologies; and market Russian tourism products.
