Earlier in the day, the President visited renovated general education school No. 6 in Tulun that was damaged by floods, spoke to local residents and had a meeting with residents of the Irkutsk Region who took part in rescue operations as well as with flood victims.
The meeting’s agenda covered relief efforts in the aftermath of two major floods, as well as problems Tulun residents shared with Mr Putin.
Participants also discussed efforts to restore schools, infrastructure, healthcare facilities and housing, the payment of allocations for buying new housing, as well as initiatives to build dams, help businesses and farmers, and reach-out efforts.
Problems of specific municipal districts in the flooded areas were also discussed.
