The President said that the law he has signed on the Pension Fund’s budget for 2010 and for the 2011–2012 period makes it possible to provide for planned spending in full. All pension programmes must be carried out despite the difficulties caused by the financial crisis, Mr Medvedev said.
Starting from December 1, 2009, the basic part of the pension will increase by 31.4 percent, and starting from January 1, 2010, additional payments to pensioners whose total income is less than the subsistence minimum will also increase.
The Pension Fund’s head briefed the President on further plans for indexing pension payments over the course of 2010.
