Vladimir Vasilyev spoke about positive changes in the republic’s economy, including the increase of real wages and fixed investment, reduction of violations of anti-monopoly legislation by officials, creation of high-tech jobs, and reduction of poverty levels.
Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Vasilyev also discussed demographic and healthcare problems, as well as the state of local roads.
According to Vladimir Vasilyev, the republic ranked among the first 40 Russian regions last year in terms of growth rates and received a 625 million ruble grant. This year, the republic managed to make it into the top 20 regions, according to the Economic Development Ministry estimate. With due consideration for additional criteria added by the Presidential Executive Office, the republic placed ninth among the top 10 regions and expects to receive a grant of over one billion rubles.
Work is now underway to adopt the 2020 budget. Vladimir Vasilyev noted that the new budget will be better than the previous one. Owing to the federal government’s assistance and efforts to reduce black market activity, crack down on corruption, and to more effectively implement anti-monopoly legislation, the current budget objectively exceeds 130 billion rubles, a major increase on previous 100 billion ruble-plus levels. Additional opportunities are emerging in this connection.
The Head of Daghestan also noted that public organisations, deputies and activists were monitoring the situation. Republican authorities respond to people’s complaints and requests, and inform the public about what they are doing.
