The agreement establishes conditions for the effective operation of the Eurasian Development Bank and its branches and offices in the Russian Federation, defines the bank’s legal status and sets out the privileges and immunity of its officials and employees.
The agreement exempts the bank, its branches and offices and its operations and transactions in Russia from taxes, fees, customs duties and other compulsory payments. It also establishes that the bank’s property and assets on Russian territory cannot be searched, requisitioned, confiscated, expropriated or subjected to any other form of intervention through executive, administrative, judicial or legislative action.
The agreement was signed in Moscow on October 7, 2008.
