The message reads, in part:
“Your traditional meetings, which bring together respected scholars and science administrators, always become a landmark event not only for the academic community but for the country as a whole. Their mission is to review results and set out priorities for an effective fulfilment of fundamental national tasks.
I would like to emphasise that science is a crucial resource of the socioeconomic development and national security of our country. It has a direct effect on the situation in the industry, high technology, agriculture, medicine, education and ecology and largely determines the quality of people’s lives. Amid the current unprecedented external pressure on Russia, the role of strong scientific schools and fundamental high-tech research is growing exponentially and is helping to strengthen our country’s sovereignty.
The state will continue working consistently to support daring scientific initiatives and promising young researchers, to improve the financial and technical foundation and infrastructure of research. I would like to note that we launched the Decade of Science and Technology this year with a view to attaining these goals.
I am confident that your forum will be held in a creative and constructive atmosphere and that its results will boost the development of our school of thought, intellectual, technological, engineering and technical potential.”
