Trade and economic cooperation, the development of cultural and educational ties, Russia's initiative to develop a new pan-European Security Treaty, as well as Russia's relations with the EU and NATO are on the meeting's agenda.
Dmitry Medvedev expressed his hope that Russian-Greek relations will gain new momentum. In turn, Prime Minister Papandreou assured President Medvedev that Athens is similarly determined to further deepen bilateral cooperation.
George Papandreou is in Russia on his first working visit as head of the Greek government that was formed in October 2009.
