Accompanied by Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhayev and Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov) of Pskov and Porkhov, chairman of the Patriarchal Council for Culture, the President toured an educational cluster consisting of the Korsun children’s centre, a branch of Artek centre, and a children’s arts centre opened on the park’s territory.
The Tauric Chersonesos Museum-Reserve is undergoing major reconstruction and expansion, following which it will include, in addition to the above sites, an international archaeological centre, a pilgrimage centre, a Byzantine quarter, an amphitheatre, an open-air church and museums of Antiquity and Byzantium, Crimea and Novorossiya, and Christianity.
Creation of the Tauric Chersonesos historical archaeological park as a national historical centre associated with the formation of the Russian nation and the unified Russian state is being carried out in accordance with Presidential instruction of March 17, 2019.
