The message reads, in part:
“In severe weather, you and Ivan Menyaylo confidently traversed a very difficult route of over 2,500 kilometres over the Barents and Kara seas. Your endurance and willpower in confronting the stormy Arctic winds evoke admiration and testify to the limitless human potential. It is also important that Fyodor Konyukhov, a member of the Russian Geographical Society, dedicated his record achievement to the 20th anniversary of the national movement Education, Health and Spirituality for Russia’s Children.
I believe that such daring and inspiring expeditions as your flight make a meaningful contribution to the upbringing of young people and the promotion of wonderful traditions of explorers and researchers our country has always been known for.
I want to sincerely thank all those who participated in this large-scale and truly unparalleled project.”
