In all, 3,097 applications from 85 Russian regions were received. Following an independent expert assessment, 303 initiatives from 73 regions will receive support. The largest grants were awarded to Moscow, St Petersburg, the Kamchatka Territory, the Moscow, Chelyabinsk and Irkutsk regions, the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Samara Region, the Stavropol Territory and the Republic of Crimea. The total value of the grants approved was 1,619,604,468 rubles. The winners and their partners plan to attract and allocate an additional 1.16 billion rubles as their own contribution to implementing their projects.
In the themed section, We are Proud of Russian Heroes and Achievements, 118 projects were successful in gaining support; 98 projects won in the People’s Unity section; and 24 projects were awarded grants in the New Opportunities section devoted to interregional projects designed to support partner relations between the new regions and other regions and cities in Russia. The themed sections, We will Prevail and The Power of Alliance, had 35 and 28 winning projects, respectively.
Most of the winning projects were presented by non-profit organisations (180 projects, 59.41 percent). Municipal agencies, commercial companies and sole entrepreneurs also took part in the contest.

The Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives was established in accord with a proposal put forward by Vladimir Putin in his address to the Federal Assembly on April 21, 2021. It operates under the presidential Executive Order No 287 of May 17, 2021, On Establishing the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.
