The message reads, in part:
“Over the centuries, Eid al-Fitr has come to symbolise for Muslims the joy of renewal, an aspiration to become better, and the purity of thought and deeds. Muslims in Russia cherish the rich historical, cultural and religious traditions inherited from their ancestors. They come together as communities and families to celebrate this holiday and help those in need in keeping with their forefathers’ legacy.
Muslim organisations have been playing a proactive role in our society by undertaking important patriotic, educational and charity initiatives. They have been successful in working with the state and civil society with a focus on educating the younger generation, supporting participants and veterans of the special military operation, as well as their families. They have also been instrumental in strengthening the unity of our people and preserving inter-ethnic harmony.”
