The message reads, in part:
“Relations between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China continue to develop along the lines of comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation. One of the most important aspects of these relations is traditionally our energy cooperation, which has grown especially vigorous and productive in the past years.
Bilateral cooperation in the oil-and-gas, coal and electric power sectors is systematically expanding. The supply of Russian energy resources to China has reached record-breaking levels. Specialists from our countries are working together to improve technologies for extracting, processing and transporting these commodities, and to increase their environmental safety.
The Russia-China Energy Business Forum, which brings together representatives of relevant government agencies and business and expert communities, plays a crucial role in this, enabling a direct and constructive dialogue on bilateral cooperation agenda in these important sectors. I would like to mention one of its most recent projects, the Investment Atlas of Russian-Chinese Energy Cooperation – a unique information and analysis platform that opens up new opportunities for implementing mutually beneficial joint projects and initiatives.
I am confident that the work of this forum will be fruitful, while the ideas and proposals put forward by its participants will be put into practice.”
