The message reads, in part:
“Prominent politicians and public figures, teachers of the Russian language and literature, researchers, journalists, diplomats, as well as representatives of religious, volunteer and youth organisations gathered in this room today. They come from across the world, and they are all Russia’s true friends.
The Assembly’s main theme highlights our sincere commitment to preserving the timeless spiritual and moral traditions and their unifying nature as a pathway to achieving our objectives. I would like to emphasise that the power and appeal of the ideas promoted by the Russian world has always been in its openness to and respect for all the distinctive customs and cultures. Today, we can see that most countries and nations share this vision, while rejecting neo-colonialism, racism and Russophobia in all their forms and manifestations. Instead, they have been demonstrating their commitment to expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation and equal dialogue based on each other’s interests.
I am certain that you will discuss a wide range of topical matters during your debates and roundtable meetings by focusing on ways to promote the Russian language and literature and reinforce the Russian-language information space. Of course, as we prepare to mark the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory next year, the forum will pay special attention to preserving the historical memory and the truth about the heroism of the Soviet people who defeated Nazism and saved the future of the entire humanity.”
