It is important to ensure that the noble traditions of friendship and mutual support, forged during those difficult wartime years, continue to serve as a solid foundation for the development of a comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China.
The active efforts of people’s diplomacy, including through your committee, play a significant role in expanding the multifaceted ties between Russia and China. For more than 25 years, this respected non-government organisation has fostered fruitful cooperation through research centres and universities, cultural and sport associations, women’s, youth and student communities, as well as business and journalistic unions. Thanks to the committee’s effective work, dozens of joint commercial, cultural, humanitarian, and educational projects are carried out.
I hope that you will thoroughly examine many pressing issues on the bilateral agenda during the plenary session, and that the proposals and initiatives you put forward will make a real contribution to promoting friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Russia and China.”
