Timely intelligence has repeatedly played a decisive role in shaping our country’s strategic decisions, helping to maintain strategic parity with the world’s leading powers and safeguarding the defence capability and military-political interests of the state, including in distant regions of the world.
Today, during the special military operation, you are performing your duties in difficult and dangerous conditions, fighting along the line of contact, uncovering enemy plans, conducting bold raids behind enemy lines, and consistently demonstrating high professionalism, composure, and courage.
It is deeply symbolic that on this day you are unveiling a Memorial to Military Intelligence Officers Who Fulfilled Their Duty to the End. The memory of your comrades who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the Fatherland is sacred.
The people of Russia are proud of your valour and heroism. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the veterans and active officers of military intelligence for their honest and impeccable service to the Fatherland, for their loyalty to their oath, and for their selfless dedication.
I am confident that you will continue to fulfil all assigned tasks with honour and dignity.”
