In connection with the statement by Head of the Republic of Daghestan Sergei Melikov on the early termination of his powers, and in accordance with Federal Law No. 414-FZ of December 21, 2021 On the General Principles of the Organisation of Public Authority in the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation, the President has accepted Sergei Melikov’s resignation at his own request.
The President has also appointed Fyodor Shchukin as Acting Head of the Republic of Daghestan, pending the assumption of office by the person elected as Head of the Republic of Daghestan.
