The instructions were issued on June 21, 2010 when the President demanded that governors undermine the corruption chains emerging in purchases of medical equipment, particularly CT scanners. Mr Chuichenko stated that a report on the subject incorporating findings of the audits performed by the Prosecutor General’s Office would be submitted to the President by August 10.
During the videoconference, Mr Medvedev was briefed by Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller on the progress in recovering the debt owed by Belarus for Russian gas. The President expressed satisfaction over the conflict settlement and gas deliveries resumption, emphasising that any contractual obligations must be properly honoured.
