The Federal Law establishes the legal and organisational specifics of federal civil service within the Russian Foreign Ministry system.
The law sets specific restrictions and prohibitions for diplomatic service workers, and at the same time guarantees them better social protection.
It sets additional state guarantees for diplomatic staff working in foreign countries with difficult social and political situations, in emergency situation conditions, and during armed conflict.
Furthermore, under the law diplomatic staff are entitled to additional state guarantees while time working in Russia’s Foreign Ministry establishments abroad. In particular, they are entitled to compensation for medical expenses, school-age children’s education costs, and to one-off payment for damage to the health of diplomatic staff and their family members caused by a terrorist attack or other acts of violence.
The law also sets state guarantees for the family members of diplomatic staff in the event of death of a diplomatic servant while working in a Russian Foreign Ministry establishment abroad.
