In his speech, Sergei Ivanov gave a high assessment of Aeroflot’s modern fleet of aircraft, excellent safety standards and level of quality. According to Mr Ivanov, the company is clearly among the most dynamically developing global airlines and the Aeroflot brand is rightly among the best recognised in the world.
The Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office remarked that the company is not only achieving commercial success but also fulfilling a highly important social function of providing a transport connection throughout the country and participating in the implementation of social programmes for residents of distant regions.
Sergei Ivanov stressed that Aeroflot holds its title as Russia’s national carrier commendably, as evidenced by the fact that the company became the official carrier of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
Mr Ivanov also noted that Aeroflot was the first airline in the world to surpass the threshold of 100 million passengers per year, and that its pilots were the first to operate ultra-modern jetliners, carving out unique transport routes.
Sergei Ivanov read Vladimir Putin’s congratulatory message and announced that an executive order had been signed on awarding state decorations to some Aeroflot employees.
