Addressing the conference, Mr Ivanov said that the Constitution, which was adopted 20 years ago, enabled Russia to preserve its sovereignty and unity and return the political process to a civilised form.
Mr Ivanov noted that Russia’s Constitution draws on the best foreign and Russian legal practice. It has established a solid track record over the 20 years since it was adopted, but there is still much work to be done to bring it fully into line with today’s reality, Mr Ivanov said.
