Mr Ivanov said that Mr Rogozhkin will devote particular attention in his new post to implementing the President’s May 2012 executive orders and keeping close watch on the spring flood situation in the Altai region.
The Chief of Staff noted that the presidential plenipotentiary envoys’ main tasks are cooperation with political parties and civil society, human resources work and fighting extremism and corruption. Today, they have a new task too, that of shaping socioeconomic and investment policy.
Mr Ivanov also answered journalists’ questions, replying in particular to questions on the need to organise humanitarian corridors to give refugees safe passage out of southeast Ukraine, issues in relations between Russia and NATO, and prospects for Russian-Chinese cooperation in the gas sector.
