During the conversation, Mr Ivanov noted the high level of Russian-Chinese relations, saying that the intensity of bilateral cooperation is determined, in particular, by the busy schedule of top-level contacts. Thus, in 2014 Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping met five times. Currently, preparations are underway for the upcoming visit by the Chinese leader to Moscow on May 8–9.
Cooperation is developing between the departments of the General Office of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee and the Presidential Executive Office of Russia responsible for human resources, combatting corruption and public process regulation.
The Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office listed preparations for the 70th anniversary of Victory in World War II as one of these joint missions: gala events are to take place in Moscow in May and in Beijing in September. Li Zhanshu noted, in turn, that the events to be held in Russia and China are of special importance in terms of retaining historical memory. According to the Director of the General Office of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, this would make it possible to learn from the past in order to ensure global peace and stability.
