Participants in the meeting included Education and Science Minister Dmitry Livanov, representatives from the State Duma, federal and regional executive agencies, public organisations, and members of teacher and expert communities.
The head of the working group, Primorye Territory Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky, briefed participants on the goals of the report that would present results from analysing the general education situation and the efficacy of measures taken to ensure comprehensive modernisation of the general education system. The data in the report will be used as a basis for formulating proposals on making qualitative improvements to school education, as well as teachers’ working conditions.
In his speech, Education and Science Minister Dmitry Livanov talked about the Ministry’s work in general education and the problems that must be resolved through joint efforts by federal and regional agencies.
Participants in the meeting noted that through its culture, traditions, system of values and relationships, the school is an important mechanism shaping the future of our children, and therefore, all of society.
The draft report will be discussed at the second meeting of the State Council Presidium working group.
