Participants in the meeting included the head of the working group, Governor of Sakhalin Region Oleg Kozhemyako, who presented the main report, head of the Federal Agency for Fishery Ilya Shestakov, the heads and representatives of federal executive agencies, and representatives from research institutes and the expert community.
Igor Levitin noted that in the last year, the geography of the group’s work has broadened significantly due to active discussions on the problems in the fishery sector at the Eastern Economic Forum, the 10th International Fishery Congress and the Russian Association of Fishery Enterprises coordination meeting.
Participants in the working group looked into issues pertaining to preparations for the upcoming meeting of the State Council presidium.
Representatives from the fishery sector and government agencies participated in a discussion on key directions and development prospects for the industry in Russia. The comments and suggestions expressed will be taken into account when preparing materials to present to the President.
