During the meeting the officials noted that information security is a priority in the work of the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, while aggressive behaviour online requires protection measures on behalf of the state and society. Ms Kuznetsova observed that many crimes are committed online. Children encounter illegal content and become victims of manipulation. In her opinion, the 2012 Federal Law on Protecting Children from Information Harmful to theirHealth and Development has created the necessary legal foundation for protecting families and children from potential destructive influences on the internet. The work to protect youth online will continue.
Following the meeting, the officials agreed to study the issue of creating a specialised call centre for assistance to children, which will receive reports from the entire country round the clock. They also agreed to monitor the enrolment of children at pre-school facilities using the electronic queue system.
