The participants discussed the development of the network of educational organisations that are carrying out physical fitness and sport programmes.
In his opening remarks Mr Levitin emphasised the need to continue improving education in the field of physical fitness and sport and create effective mechanisms for training personnel, providing them with jobs and sending them to professional development courses.
Minister of Sport Pavel Kolobkov, Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor Valery Shantsev, Sverdlovsk Region Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev, heads of educational organisations and other specialists in education and sports spoke at the meeting. They discussed the connections between educational programmes at different levels, the need to ensure continuous education, and providing the link between the educational system and the labour market.
Speakers paid considerable attention to the importance of having physical fitness and sport personnel with higher or secondary professional education. They also discussed measures undertaken in different regions of the Russian Federation to create comfortable conditions for professional personnel, including young specialists.
Issues of professional education and the labour market in the field of physical fitness and sport will be reflected in a report for the meeting of the Presidential Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport.
