The meeting reviewed the results of the Expert Council’s work in 2016 and outlined plans for the experts’ continued work in the following main areas in 2017:
– analysing application and studying the need to improve legislation in the areas of citizenship, pardons, and migration issues;
– working with the Foreign Ministry, the Institute for Linguo-Civilizational and Migration Processes (ILMP), the Russkiy Mir Foundation and other relevant Russian organisations to establish a Russian-French-German ongoing expert dialogue on migration, citizenship and related linguo-civilizational issues.
Taking part in the meeting were representatives of federal executive and legislative bodies, universities, the Russian Education Academy, scientific and research establishments, and prominent lawyers specialising in constitutional law, state building and civil rights.
