Climate Week is being held in Russia for the first time. Events aimed at informing the public about climate activities in Russia and drawing attention to global climate change will begin on May 15 and will last until June 15.
The Climate Week programme has been formed based on proposals made by federal and regional executive authorities, representatives of the business community, environmental and public organisations and educational institutions.
The programme comprises 422 events to be held in many Russian cities in the form of round tables, scientific seminars and open lectures for students and schoolchildren, research and educational events, tours of enterprises, practice sessions and exchanges of experience in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The themes of the events will cover a wide range of issues of climate activity across various sectors of the economy.
