Also taking part in the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, Chair of the State Duma Committee for Transport and Road Infrastructure Development Yevgeny Moskvichyov, regional heads and their deputies responsible for the transport sector, as well as representatives of federal bodies of executive authority, development institutes and the expert community.
In his speech, Igor Levitin said that last October, a meeting of the State Council Presidium took place where the President instructed the Government and the State Council Commission to create an integrated project for the development of public transport as part of the Safe and High-Quality Roads national project.
Participants in the seminar discussed various aspects of the development and upgrade of passenger transportation and the maintenance infrastructure, as well as the project’s key objective: to ensure that all Russian regions had access to such upgrading.
Proposals developed during the seminar- conference will be submitted to the Government to take into consideration the interests and demands of the regions when developing and implementing the integrated project.
