The meeting was attended by Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin, Governor of the Kursk Region Roman Starovoit, members of the Federation Council and the State Duma, heads of federal and regional executive bodies and their deputies, as well as representatives of businesses, development institutions and the expert community.
The participants discussed the current situation in regional logistics chains for the delivery of essential goods and the plans to develop them in the medium term.
Following the Presidential instruction, the participants resolved to create an ad hoc working group to prepare for a meeting of the State Council Presidium on developing the Volga-Caspian Macro-Region as a common logistics and economic space.
The participants exchanged views on the current and expected logistics problems for the delivery of consumer goods in the regions, taking into account the regional specifics, and on the effectiveness of adopted measures to create inter- and intra-regional logistics chains.
Igor Levitin announced the establishment of a headquarters for transport and logistics corridors, which will involve representatives of federal executive bodies and businesses under the supervision of First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov.
At the meeting, the participants made proposals on minimising economic and logistics risks for the regions and developing effective logistics chains. The proposals will be submitted to the said headquarters for consideration.
