Taking part in the meeting were Deputy Minister of Agriculture Yelena Fastova, member of the Federation Council Committee on Agriculture and Food Policy and Environmental Management Tatyana Gigel, Chair of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues Vladimir Kashin, as well as deputies of senior regional officials and representatives of relevant federal executive authorities, industry unions, expert organisations and development institutions.
In his opening remarks, Igor Levitin stressed that the agriculture industry must become a key area in achieving Russia’s technological sovereignty by upgrading agricultural machine building, among other things.
Proposals were made by Rosagroleasing CEO Pavel Kosov, President of the Askhod Agricultural Machinery Dealers Association Pavel Repnikov and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Meeting participants discussed the development of the domestic agricultural machinery market, the restructuring of logistics chains, and the search for new suppliers of machinery, equipment, components, spare parts and special equipment for the needs of Russian farmers.
Igor Levitin instructed the commission to further work out the issues discussed at the meeting and submit their proposals to the agenda of the State Council and its presidium.
