The meeting participants endorsed priority areas of activity and a list of urgent measures on launching the foundation, including the creation of regional branches, training of social coordinators, and a programme of psychological and psychotherapeutic aid for veterans. These measures will be implemented in Russia for the first time. They also discussed the special military operation veterans’ requests and complaints and draft laws related to support for the participants.
The speakers noted that the main difference between the foundation and other similar agencies is the personal care and attendance rendered to veterans and families of fallen soldiers, based on an individual approach to each life situation.
Regional branches of the foundation will open by June 1, 2023. As of today, premises in the Russian regions have been assigned and approved and they are being prepared for use.
In May, next month, the foundation will organise, in Moscow, a training programme for the heads of the regional branches and chairs of the regional interdepartmental commissions.
