During her trip to Ufa, Maria Lvova-Belova visited the Republican Specialised Children’s Home, the To Samoye Mesto (The Very Same Place) centre for teenagers that opened in September with the support of the Federal Centre for the Support of Adolescent Socialisation Projects, as well as the RITM centre for daytime labour activities for people with disabilities.
During a working meeting with Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, Maria Lvova-Belova discussed the implementation of the commissioner’s strategic programmes. In particular, she suggested launching the Children in the Family service to work with difficult family cases and help children return to their parents. The meeting participants also agreed to increase the number of employees at the centre for teenagers as part of the Teenagers of Russia programme.
Another agreement is related to building flats for assisted living and expanding the Sodeistvie employment centre for young adults with disabilities. The centre will receive an additional space to accommodate 100 teenagers with disabilities; funds will also be allocated for repair works and routine maintenance of the facility.
Maria Lvova-Belova also held a meeting with the representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the Republic of Bashkortostan engaged in protecting the rights and legal interests of children.
