The meeting was attended by Presidential Aide and State Council Secretary Alexei Dyumin, Minister of Sport Mikhail Degtyarev, and officials from the Paralympic Committee.
In his opening remarks, Alexei Dyumin noted that during a meeting of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport in Ufa, the President outlined a number of issues concerning the development and decommmercialisation of sport, improving the work of sports federations, and ensuring the opportunities for all athletes to participate in official competitions without having to pay entry or other fees. The President also touched upon matters of adaptation and rehabilitation of the participants of the special military operation through adaptive sports, among other avenues.
All these topics should be reflected in the comprehensive state programme titled “Development of Physical Culture and Sport,” including ensuring accessibility of adaptive physical fitness and sport for everyone who may need it.
The State Council Commission should become a permanent platform for exchanging views between the federal authorities, regions and the sports community, and be widely involved in the development of all relevant strategic documents, Alexei Dyumin said.
The Presidential Aide also noted that two Council meetings had been scheduled for next year. The first one will focus on promoting adaptive sports, and the President will be invited to hold it in Tula. The second meeting on the development of children’s and youth sports will be held in Samara as part of the Russia – Country of Sports forum.
